I’m In Love…With My New Thermometer

When Boy was an itty-bitty and suffered from chronic bronchitis, taking his temp was a challenge.  It was either by armpit as a baby (I never felt comfortable with checking by way of the nether regions) or by mouth as a youngster.  Both ways left me wondering if I got an accurate reading.

Right before Sweet E was born, I was shopping and found a techy thermometer on sale: Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer.  I picked up the package and read the details, side-eying the amazing claims, but threw it in my basket anyway.  Why?  I figured if the truth lived up to the hype, then I had just discovered a thermometer miracle.

As soon as I got home, I Googled the product (what did we do before Google?!) and the reviews had me at “Best Baby Care Product.” So, I did what any grandma-to-be would do: I took it to Boy and Girl, so they would never have to struggle with Sweet E’s temp-taking.

You see that pretend momma, swiping that real thermometer across her fake son’s forehead?  Well….THAT’S ALL THERE IS TO IT!

How do I know?

#1) Boy advised that they have already used it on Sweet E and it worked like it was designed/promised.

#2) I bought one for our household and used it on myself.

The product description: The TemporalScanner Thermometer is a totally non-invasive system with advanced infrared technology providing maximum ease of use with quick, consistently accurate measurements. Advanced, patented technology measures temperatures with a gentle stroke across the forehead. The TemporalScanner Thermometer has been clinically tested for accuracy compared to rectal thermometers and temperature sensors inserted in the heart during course of patient treatment and accepted for use in major hospitals, making it the ideal thermometer for use with newborns, infants, children or adults. The TemporalScanner has patented software, providing arterial heat balance. This unique process determines temperature by accurately measuring the balance between the tissues warming from arterial blood and tissues cooling (warming) caused by heat loss (gain) to the environment.

I’ll break it down for you: It works with no probing.

BOOM!

Want it?  Neeeeed it?  Gotta have it?  Order HERE.

So far, I have purchased three of these bad boys as baby gifts.

One Caveat: Once you use it, you won’t want to stop.  I think I took my temperature at least 10 times while writing this post.

I have this thermometer and LOVE it! With no kids around (at least not often), I use it a lot on myself. Came in very handy the last few weeks when I was feeling so cruddy. My oldest (30) will actually drive to my house to borrow it when she's feeling sick. Definitely worth having!

Ha! I love the idea of you grown kiddo driving to your house to take their temperature.

I would have loved this when my children were little. Good review. A great gift for my daughter (mother of 4). At 60-some percent off it's a good deal, too.

I just gave it as a shower gift. I can't imagine using anything else now.

Hooray for a good thermometer. When my little girl was born I was gifted a digital thermometer, but the thing never reads the same temp. twice. This is heading to the top of my "must-haves" list for baby #2 coming in July. Thanks so SO much!

You are so welcome. Two new babies in my life are now the proud owners of this thermometer. It's my official go-to gift.
