My New Obsession: Himalayan Pink Salt

Do you guys remember my Epsom Salt post and my quest to find a natural way to replenish my waning magnesium levels?  If so, you’ll fully appreciate why I am loving the Himalayan Pink salt!

Himalayan Pink salt is packed with the good stuff.  Table salt, not so much.

Himalayan salt contains the minerals that are necessary for your health, including macrominerals and trace minerals. The macrominerals are needed in relative abundance and include calcium, chloride, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and sodium.

OMT likey.

Salt that’s good for ya!  Well, good for me. You guys may/may not need to check with your docs before adding salt to your diet.

SALTY!

While Epsom salt can ease muscle tension, Himalayan salt is beneficial in the minerals it replenishes.

Being a skeptic, I wondered if the pink stuff is really all hype or is there any truth to the buzz?

#1: It’s salt.

#2: Himalayan salt is considered healthier than common table salt because it does not contain any additives or chemicals, and is a naturally occurring substance.

#3: It’s salt.

#4: It’s packed full of minerals.

#5: Despite its high mineral content, Himalayan salt is primarily a source of sodium, and excess sodium consumption can lead to a host of health problems.

#6: It’s salt.

Just as I suspected.

SALTY!

Knowing what I know, why am I loving this salt?

#1: It is packed with magnesium.

#2: It’s yummy salty.

#3: As a naturally occurring salt, Himalayan salt contains all these minerals without chemical processing or refinement.

#4: The very first time I used Himalayan salt was on my popcorn (made in this).  I’ve used table salt on my popcorn and it slides right off the corn to the bottom of the bowl.  I’ve used Kosher salt on my popcorn and some of it stuck to the corn, but most fell to the bottom of the bowl.  I’ve used Himalayan Pink and it. stuck. to. the. corn.  It was such a delightful experience that I made Garry taste the popcorn, once I had eaten half the bowl.  Still salty!  So if it turns out that the 84 mineral hype doesn’t do anything for me, I’ll still keep a grinder full of the Pink Wonder just for my popcorn.  #trust

Happy Saltin’, y’all!

I've never heard of this type of salt. I have to watch my intake because I bloat and swell easily. I like that it sticks on popcorn too. That's rare!! Stacie xo
