Slutty Brownie Recipe

I keep making ’em and we keep eating ’em.

No matter what variation I make, this Slutty Brownies recipe never get old.

Hands Down The Best Slutty Brownies You’ll Ever Eat

Bold words, but TRUTH!

~drooooool~

I know – I KNOW!

Some folks h-a-t-e the name, but I didn’t name them, I simply adapted the recipe and continue to bake/share/eat them.

I bet if you share with your mom/memaw/great auntie, they won’t mind the name (I find the male species has no issues with the name – go figure!)…so much.

My father-in-law cringed, then laughed upon hearing the name.

They might still wince a little, but while smiling. And nomming.

These Chocolate Slutty Brownies Are One Of My Most Requested Recipes

Make them and you’ll understand: #gamechangers

This one was my first attempt and the one that hooked us:

Slutty Brownie

Slutty Brownies are a chocolate-lover’s dream! They are rich and decadent and as good as they look.

Better even.

One bite and your lie will be divided by then and now – you’ll never feel the same about what a brownie should look and taste like.

There’s a reason why folks insist I hand over the recipe: they live up to the die-by-chocolate hype.

What is a Slutty Brownie?

Obviously, you know what a brownie is, right?

(don’t answer that)

A Slutty (that’s what we call ’em in our house) is comprised of three parts:

#1: The bottom cookie layer

#2: The middle Oreo layer

#3: The top brownie layer

Oreo Brownies = A Brownie By Another Name

Slutty Brownies go by many names, and this one is because, well, the Oreos!

Some others include:

  • Sluty Brownies
  • Slitty Brownies
  • Oreo Cookie Brownies
  • Londoner Brownies
  • Sluty Brownies
  • Slut BNrownie (oh my)Ultimate Oreo Brownies

Slutty Brownie Recipe = A Chocolate Lover’s Dream

Chocolate chip cookie bottom, chocolate Oreo middle, followed by a chocolate brownie topping.

Lawsy! It’s like a dream, but IT’S REAL LIFE!

Potential Problem: There’s a slight problem with allll that chocolate: Girl isn’t a huge fan, and I want Girl to love a Slutty like we love a Slutty.

Come on, LOVE A SLUTTY!

The Attempted Solution: What’s a chocolate lovin’ baker to do?

Brainstorm a solution, that’s what.

After looking over all possible angles, I decided to make ’em with Vanilla Oreos!  (I know, still chocolatey, but with a swath of vanilla).

I also considered making a blonde brownie as a substitute for the chocolate one, but I think that would rob the Slutty of its essential fudgy gooeyness that makes folk’s eyes roll back in their head at first bite.

I stuck with simply substituting vanilla Oreos for the chocolate.

STOP LICKING THE SCREEN!

I took these to a tailgate party, Sweet E’s first (Texas A&M vs Alabama), and kept my fingers crossed that I’d hit upon a delicious compromise.

I love a delicious compromise, don’t you?

The Result: Tailgaters FLIPPED OUT!

While I was rushed for the recipe, I totally forgot to ask Girl what she thought.

Girl? Are you out there reading this?! What say you?

Thumbs up?

Thumbs down?

If it’s the latter, can I have yours?

Why Are They Called Slutty Brownies?

My best guess is because they are NOT like regular brownies.

They are decadent and completely eye-rolling, groan-inducing, brownies!

What Are Slutty Brownies Made Of?

  1. Cookie dough
  2. Oreos
  3. Brownies

How Do You Make These Magical Mystical Slutty Brownies?

I need you to know, before we get to the recipe, that while there are three layers, and the recipe can seem daunting, it’s not – if you take it step-by-step.

Once each layer is readied, you just layer in the pan and bake.

Even if you’re new to baking, you can do it!

Face yer fears! Your taste buds and food baby will thank you!

You also should know, if you look at the calorie count for each brownie, that we consider these a treat – not an every week kinda goodie.

Hold on to yer spatula!

How Long To Let Brownies Cool?

If you love your tongue, you’ll be wise to let them cool just a bit before devouring!

Okay Fine, Really, How Long Do Brownies Take To Cool?

Honestly, I eat them within a few minutes of coming out of the oven, but if you’re going to be civilized and serve them to others, I’d say a good 30 minutes of cooling should be sufficient.

The Lowdown On How OMT Makes These Easy Homemade Brownies

(some call this an Oreo Brownie recipe)

I double this recipe and bake in a 10 x 15 inch pan because:

#1) Slutties freeze well.

#2) If I’m going to the trouble of making these, I want some stashed in my freezer for later.

If you double, you’ll want to increase bake time by about 10-15 minutes (keep an eye on your brownies and pull out when toothpick comes out clean from center).

By “doubling” the recipe I mean that I only double the brownie portion, because the recipe already calls for only using half the prepared cookie dough.

If you double the brownie portion, you basically use an entire package of Oreos and the full cookie dough recipe. (let’s be honest: if we leave half the cookie dough, we’re just gonna eat it raw…salmonella be damned!).

*** To make things really easy, substitute the brownie recipe above with a package of brownie mix (two packages if doubling).

*** If you wanted to make things reeeeeaaaallllly easy, you can substitute brownie mix and cookie dough mix. No one will mock you for going the non-homemade route, but if they do, slam a brownie in their pie-hole to convert their black heart.

Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix

For me, this mix makes the best brownies, but feel free to use what you love.

A brownie recipe easy!

In a nutshell, I do everything the same as the original recipe except I double the brownie portion and use the entire cookie portion.

Why do I make so many?

Is there really a need for so many brownies?

Um, have you met me?

Make this recipe one time and you’ll think I’m a baking genius.

Can You Freeze Slutty Brownies?

A million times yes.

The biggest reason I double the recipe is so there are always some to freeze, meaning always some available.

Brownies are some of the easiest things to freeze.

How Do You Freeze Slutty Brownies?

I do it one of two ways.

#1: Layer brownies in plastic ware – in a single layer. If container is big enough for a second layer, cover first layer with parchment paper, then add second layer.

Pop the top on and place in freezer.

#2: You can use freezer bags to freeze your brownies.

Simply place brownies in bag, in a single layer, then lay on a flat surface in freezer. Once frozen you can stack, if desired.

One thing you need to prepare yourself for is how deliciously rich Slutties are – they can be cut into smaller than normal brownie portions, thereby allowing you to freeze for future deliciousness.

To thaw, take out of container (however many you need) and place on plate and thaw for 10-15 minutes.

EAT!

How Can I Adapt Up My Slutty Brownies?

Think of the ingredients that make you happy, your spice o’life, then experiment by adding:

  • red hot candies
  • cinnamon
  • Butterscotch chips
  • spicy chocolate chips

OMT FUN FACT: I like to eat my cookies and brownies straight from the freezer. #weirdo

This pic above is from the last batch I made. I used dark chocolate Oreos (that’s why you can’t see the Oreo’s white stripe).

~ i die ~

Yes, they are as sinful, as delicious, as insane as the picture indicates. Most importantly, they are worth it.

Seriously – loooook at it!

Stop wasting time, man. Get to the store. Grab ingredients. BAKE!

Then kiss your mother (buttering her up) before telling her their name.

She deserves something sweet, too.

Bake on, mah babies….bake on!

Note: I have also made these with Birthday Cake Oreos, and they were, um, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, amazing (even though it’s wasn’t mah birthday)!

Now, get to constructing your Slutty Brownies.
