Mrs Tucker, I was just trying to figure out what's going on with foodgawker (again!) and googled it and came across your post about foodgawker (which I read and commented on a long time ago). Anyway ...
I have a "Look at my foodgawker gallery" thing/widget/whateveryoucallit in my sidebar and when I click on it, it now leads to some WordPress installation nonsense. So I entered just foodgawker.com and same thing came up. Are you experiencing this?

looking at you pear butter and absolutely can't wait to try it. I'm still a newbie on canning but wondering if anything special to process this recipe (e.g. add pectin to thicken) besides pouring into jars and boil for 10 minutes. THANK YOU!!

I don't "can" these in the traditional way of heating the mason jars, etc, but simply put the warm pear butter into the jars, leaving room for expansion when frozen, and freeze. Works like a charm.
These are stored in my deep freeze, not my pantry.

I have no contacts in Miami, but my bet is you could find a support group on facebook or through a Google search. Best of luck.
