OMT! gave you the lowdown on her Blue Yeti and today we talk about how to better light your world.
As most photographers, I prefer natural light when I shoot, but some days, even in sunny Texas, the lighting is subpar.

The light kit is inexpensive, but a little powerhouse.
~ It fits my needs and I use it in conjunction with natural lighting, especially if the lighting is a bit harsh (the umbrellas diffuse nicely).
~ The kit has improved the quality of my photos when available natural lighting is questionable.
~ The umbrella stands are easy and quick to set-up – easy on/off switches – everything stores compactly in a small bag.
Pro: the light bulb carry bag is brilliant.
Con: the bulbs are CFLs and I abhor CFLs. I’m looking into replacing them, ASAP.
For the price, this light kit is a stellar deal.
At the moment, mine is set up in my office for facebook live videos. They knock down the glare from my window and soften the images (images = me).
I have also used them for my food photography when the lighting isn’t just right.
OMT likey!
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this package again (it was a Christmas gift!) or gift it myself. I love it that much.
If you haven’t made the jump to a kit yet, you can hardly go wrong with this one.
Happy Shopping!
How to Charge It Faster: Lightning Cables
Wednesday 30th of May 2018
[…] Recharging can take more time than I have, so I invested in a lightning cable kit. […]

Thanks for sharing this. Lighting is the biggest issue I have taking photos in my home, as we have canned lighting in the ceilings of every room. They create awful glare. I always assumed a lighting kit would be too expensive for the amateur work that I do, but this kit is very reasonably priced.

Agree! And since I've been using it for some time now, I can say it has paid for itself many times over.
