What Grandma Drinks: Bliss-Inspired Tipsy Floats

Who remembers orange Creamsicles and ice cold root beer floats from childhood?

ALL OF US!

Right?

Since Sweet E was recently here, I had a few Creamsicles in my freezer.  After he left, those delicious treats gave me an idea for a grown-up drink:

What Grandma Drinks: Bliss-Inspired Tipsy Floats

When I was coming up, Creamsicles were a rarity in our house.

If The German brought them home from the commissary, #1: it meant we had been super good and #2: they wouldn’t be there long.

Creamsicles (and Fudgesicles) were the King of Popsicles.

Pure creamy orangey heaven that elicited literal squeals of delight.

It got me to wondering why I couldn’t enjoy that same delicious childhood-inspired bliss now, you know as an adult, with an adulty twist.

Enter my end-of-summer kiss to you: Hard Orange Cider and Hard Root Beer floats.

This post will be my absolute easiest “recipe” ever offered to you.

Ready?

BLISS-INSPIRED TIPSY FLOATS

Ingredients:

Hard root beer.

Hard cider. (I likey the orange, but maybe you likey the cheery or apple.)

Vanilla ice cream, the creamier the churn, the better.

Optional: Whipped cream or Cool Whip, if you’re going for the true childhood dream.

Directions:

Place one scoop of ice cream in glass.

Fill almost to top with root beer or hard cider.

Add one more scoop of ice cream.

Add 1-2 tsps of homemade vanilla extract.

Top with whipped cream.

Die. Just Die.

Wait.

Don’t die.

Sheesh.

Just an expression, but seriously, when you take that first sip, go ahead and pretend like Jesus has come for you, because you’ve tasted nirvana and you can go on home now.

~ BIG SWIG ~

Y’all. Did I steer you wrong?

NO! I DID NOT!

You’re welcome.

See you in heaven.
