Y’all. Summer is hot…am I right?
If you live in Texas, or any other climate that rarely takes a break from sunny days and little rain, you’re gonna need to water your lawn.
So. Much. Watering.
I do not have an in-ground system. Nope, I’m as old-fashioned as you can get (in this matter!).
As usual, if I have something to do, water the lawn, I’d like a little fun added to the mix.
~ A gentle reminder: OMT! uses Amazon referral links. When you do your shopping through the Amazon links on this page, you support the blog at no cost to yourself. It’s much appreciated!~
Here’s the sprinkler I use (and LOVE!):
Gilmour Impulse Sprinkler
Look at that spectacular beauty.
~ I have the plastic version of this badboy. As of this writing, I am ordering the metal version – cause TEXAS!
~ Not the TWO hose attachment areas. One attaches to your water hose, your source of, um, quality H2O (name that movie!) and the other can do one of two things: either keep the cap on to water one specific area….OR…attach ANOTHER hose (and then another sprinkler, and water more than one area at a time.
Then, of course, run through them.
BONUS: the sprinkler makes the fun ch-ch-ch-ch-chhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound that is ingrained from our youth. Think football fields – they’e notorious for using impulse sprinklers.
~ Ideal for large circular lawns
~ Up to 5,800 square foot coverage
~ 86-feet diameter circular spray pattern (43-feet spray distance)
~ Adjustable collar for partial- to full-circle coverage
~ Heavy-duty brass and zinc head for added durability, even with heavy use
The Gilmour pulsating sprinkler is designed with a wide range of features to satisfy all watering needs. Heavy duty metal head with a triple-spike base provide durability and stability during use. Distance and rotation controls allow for easy customization of the coverage area. A series connection gives an option of attaching additional sprinklers for watering multiple areas. This sprinkler is ideal for mature lawns or established shrubs and covers up to 5,800 square feet. This sprinkler is built to last and is a must-have in every homeowner’s arsenal.
It’s easy to use, too:
~ Connect the Gilmour pulsating sprinkler with a hose
~ Set partial rotary by using the two levers (one for the left, one for the right) or flip the metal lever up for full 360 rotation
~ Set the distance control dial on the top of the sprinkler head to adjust the spray distance
~ Turn the screw on the side of the head to adjust water spray from heavy stream to fine mist
Did I mention it’s fun to run away from and through?
Well, it is!
Sweet E loves this one.
Hard working, heavy duty and fun.
What more can you ask for in an above-ground manual sprinkler?
Get to watering, y’all. Summer ain’t over yet.
