Lifehack: Making Your Eggs Egg McMuffin-Style

Share It!

I’m not a big fan of the Egg McMuffin mostly because I think it should taste as yummy as the picture looks, but never does.  I’d rather spend my money on things I can’t hack at home, like their delicious hot fries.

As it happened, while researching the popcorn bowl (don’t you want some bacon popcorn?!), I also came across this:

Egg McMuffin Lifehack

I eat a lot of eggs for training purposes (run, Mrs. Tucker, RUN!) and I hate hard-boiling them.. You’ve seen this, right?!  Gaa!  When I saw the egg muffin pan product, I thought if it actually lived up to its promise, I could make my eggs in “just minutes” and have them hot to boot!

WIN-WIN, baby!

(If these microwaveable products are old hat to you guys, know that I rarely use the microwave to cook.  I have MFA: Microwaved Food Aversion.  Is so a real thing. This is completely new territory…microwavable cookware?!…so humor me, won’t you?)

Let the experiment begin!

Out of the package it looks like this:

Flip it open to fill:

The instructions specify to use ONE egg and cook for one minute…I did two for 1:30 minutes.  Egg Cookin’ Rebel!  Who eats one egg?!

I also added some Parmesan cheese.  I wouldn’t recommend a softer cheese, because microwaves tend to be unkind to softer cheeses.

Here’s a side shot so you can see how thick two eggs are, in case you’re ravenous and one won’t do on your muffin:

Since I was sharing my breakfast with the dog, two eggs hit the spot.

Dex approved:

!BAM!  Now everyone can enjoy lifehacking the famed Egg McMuffin, or just have really hot eggs whenever you need a protein boost.

Clean-up was a breeze, no needed oils or butter (but you know how I feelz about mah butterz), lickity-split fast, and so simple even the older kiddos can make them.

Plus, as a very hot (not to be confused with hawt) Texan, anytime I don’t have to turn on a burner is a plus this time of year.

This product will be getting lots of play in our house.  Even Husband agrees, as he’s already used it too. YAY!

  1. Well that is very cool. I hardly ever eat any fast food. Home cooking is so much better 🙂 Thanks for joining us this week at the Let’s Get Social Sunday linky party. Enjoy your day, Diane @MamalDiane

I honestly have an aversion to microwaved food, but this pan is so handy and the egg is fluffy and stays hot. I was dubious beforehand, but am obviously sold now. So easy! Thanks for coming by.

  2. That actually looks pretty good. I stay away from fast food, but we do make our own breakfast sandwiches here…kind of like an egg mcmuffin. Bagel, egg, bacon and cheese. Yum!!

I am a junk food fiend. It’s a sickness, really. But, Egg McMuffins are never as good as they look (the only time I hit up a McDonald’s is on road trips, but I usually get the largest fries they have. Addicted.). I love the idea that you can easily make one to your liking with this handy pan. It’s more than earned it’s spot in my kitchen.

  3. That is cool! Amara is not big on eating eggs and maybe making them herself in something like this would get here to eat them more. Going to check with her Mommy! Thanks.

  4. My friend Jeff gave me one of these a few months ago. It is fantastic. How can one little inexpensive item make me so happy? : ) In fact, I do believe I will be heading downstairs to make myself a breakfast sandwich right now…….

ps have you ever tried chopping up a slice of ham into little pieces and adding it to the scrambled egg/cheese mix? Divine!

YAY! I love that you have one and LOVE it too! We usually layer the meat on the egg after it’s cooked. I was actually thinking about making one before I saw your post. Now, I gotta have one! Thanks for popping in!

You’re so funny! I love your thoughts on the Egg Muffin maker! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing at Pinworthy Projects.

How to win Mrs. Tucker’s ♥ = tell her she’s funny. HA! I love this thang! Thanks for coming by.

  6. I am not a big egg eater, but that looked good and I love anything that doesn’t make a mess!

Pinned it! Thanks for sharing this with us at One Sharendipity Place this weekend!!

    • Mrs. Tucker says

It doesn’t make a mess! It’s one of the best things about it. And the egg…

      Thanks for the pin!

  7. Mrs. Tucker, you are hilarious!
I actually love McDonalds Sausage egg McMuffin. It’s the one thing I’m always willing to eat when I’m getting breakfast on the run. Plus they now serve breakfast from midnight on! Win!!!

However, I can not wait to try this. I love eggs, but I haven’t loved micro-cooked eggs much, but this looks great, and it gets GREAT reviews on Amazon.
Thank you for making me laugh, smile and hungry.

YAY! Another person I made laugh! I LOVE when that happens. Plus, this product does not disappoint. We love it.

      Welcome to the fun!
