Insulated Thermos That Will Make You High-Five Your Barista

I have a new favorite insulated tumbler and it’s NOT an Arctic Thermos!

While, the Yeti, Arctic, and RTIC are still great products, my new go-to is the KODI tumbler, from HEB.

What is a KODI tumbler?

HEB is a local Texas grocery store that has gotten into the market of insulated ever’thangs!

My favorite of the ever’thangs is the KODI 28 ounce tumbler.

It is perfect for Southern Sweet Tea, y’all!

We have them in several colors and have given them as gifts because they are that wonderful.

Insulated thermos…insulated tumbler…

Think of these two words as interchangeable.

Most folks think of a thermos when you are storing soup, and KODI offers containers big enough for soup and perfect for hot drinks.

The only place to get them new is at a local HEB, but if you are NOT in Texas, I suggest you find a friend or relative who lives near an HEB and have them pick you up one or two or five!

I do not believe they ship (as of this updated post – they do!), but I could be wrong (it happens sometimes, even to me!).

Today, we’re going to take a look at three top brands of tumblers with double insulation: Yeti, Arctic and RTIC.

Get ready to high-five your barista, baby!

Everyone has their favorite insulated thermos, coffee travel mug, water bottle or tumbler, right?

At the moment, mine is the RTIC thermos, but I also love the KODI brand, which is made locally, from H-E-B, and not yet available on Amazon.

When it is, I’ll pop back in and add it to this review (heads up: yer gonna LOVE KODI tumblers).

I, like you, am a fussy-pants when it comes to the container that holds my much-loved coffee.

In order of preference for a steaming hot mug o’joe: 24 ounce ceramic mug, double-cupped paper with sleeve, then a double-walled stainless steel thermos.

Whatever I use, ceramic cup, paper or stainless thermos (tumbler), it needs to do a few things:

#1: Keep my coffee burnin’ hot.

#2: Be easy to clean.

#3: Keep my coffee burnin’ hot.

I don’t use a Yeti or Arctic thermos at the moment (Garry and I both use and love our RTICs), but wanted to put them side-by-side to see if they could pass muster.

If you’ve never used one before, you might wonder: what exactly is a stainless steel insulated tumbler?

In a nutshell, the cups work by not allowing heat or cold to escape into the air.

Think of a cup within a cup (a bit like double-cupping at Starbucks), with one of those cups (the outside portion) being sealed with the air sucked out, so that when you pour a hot beverage in (or a cold one) there is no heat (or cold) transfer.

There’s no way the heat can escape, meaning hot thangs stay hot and cold thangs stay cold.
