Amber Glass Spray Bottles
I’m hooked on amber bottles. Not only do they look beautiful, they are functional. And in this world of consumerism, isn’t it great to find a product that is both?
Yes. Yes it is!
~NOTE: This post is a result of my experience with these particular glass bottles, which I paid for (OMT! has no affiliation with this company) and still use! I simply love them and want to pass on the information and good find. I hope this is a helpful product review that you can use!
Amber Bottles
Why use amber bottles, spray or other wise? Or more importantly…
What Is The Purpose Of Amber Bottles?
- Amber glass blocks UV light
- Amber glass bottles can also block blue light and other light wavelengths
- Blocked UV light cannot degrade your product
- Glass is non-reactive
- Environmentally friendly
Are Amber Bottles Safe?
Glass is an inert material – non-reactive – which means it will not react to any contents.
In other words, they are perfectly safe and the preferred method for storage.
Can You Put Essential Oils in a Glass Spray Bottle?
Absolutely.
I store my essential oil mixtures exclusively in amber glass spray bottle and in amber dropper bottles.
They are a wise investment and they can be used for years.
Can You Store Essential Oils In Plastic Bottles?
This is highly ill-advised. If you do store essential oils in any plastic, they will breakdown and the plastic container could possible leach into the oils.
No Bueno!

What Do I Store In Amber Glass Bottles?
Oooo-whee! Ever-thang!
As I stated in the beginning of this post: I’m hooked on these bottles!
Short List Of My Spray Bottles Collection:
- Cleaning products
- Essential oil mixes
- Tinctures
- Natural Pest control – mostly mosquitoes and biting flies (Dang! East Texas is tough!)
- Flea and Tick Repellant for our pup (I spray it on her directly and on all bedding and beds!)
- Aromatics
Anything that could degrade in a plastic bottle, I store in an amber glass bottle. Simple!
Brand of Amber Glass Spray Bottle I Use
You can use any reputable brand, but my absolute go-to is the TECOHOUSE brand (click on amazon link for deets):

At the time of this posting, these amber glass bottles include (from the manufacturer):
Glass Spray Bottles Set includes 1 funnel for easy filling, 2 reusable black and white labels for quick recognition, 3ml plastic graduated pipettes, and a user manual.
As you can see you not only get the bottles, but accessories! Just adds to my love for this brand.
How To Clean Amber Bottles
I use the easy method and put them in the dishwasher. Others have reported that they boil water and then submerge their bottels for 10 minutes, then take out and let air dry.
If you do that, submerge only the glass parts – not the sprayer.
If you are washing the bottles, make sure that before you pour any essential oils in, that the bottle is completely dry.
If you are using the dishwasher, there is typically a tab for high heat drying – perfect for this job!
Straw Brush
If you have a tough spot to clean, especially in the smaller amber bottles, you can use a bendy straw brush.Works like a charm.
Final Notes:
I tend to be rough on things, but I have used these bottles for months, continuously, and they have held up to my wear and tear.
The sprayer is sturdy and a stinkin’ workhorse. No issues with flimsiness or clogging.
The labels are great, as is having a tiny funnel for loading the bottles. That teeny tiny funnel!
If you are looking for reliable and sturdy amber glass spray bottles, these are it!
Thanks for reading (can you believe it’s not about cake?!) and let me know what you think in the comments.
Spray on!
